Children´s literature as a mediation tool to knowledge building at the social space fishermen’s colony

Abstract

This article reflects on a research conducted at a fishermen’s colony in the city of Bom Jesus da Lapa. The study aimed at analysing how would be an educator practice in non-formal spaces by mediating reading activities with the fishermen children. A qualitative approach was employed by means of an action research. For the information’s collected, were used a few instruments, such as observation, semi-structured interview, and workshops. The results indicate that the constant work of children's literature in a child's daily life is fundamental to awaken his interest in the world of reading. The elements, as they were separated, made it possible to understand how they happen in practice to the contributions of literary narratives to the child's learning universe in non-formal spaces.
