The contribution of innovative methodologies to the construction of the student's mathematical knowledge in the early years of elementary school
Keywords:
Mathematical Education, Teaching-learning, Teaching methodologiesAbstract
The present work had as main objective to understand how the innovative methodologies can be inserted within the context of the public school, in order to contribute to the construction of mathematical knowledge by the student. In order to reach the objectives, the qualitative research in education was used, having as strategy the case study, in addition, interviews were carried out with a teacher and ten students in the 4th year of Elementary School of a municipal school in Bom Jesus da Lapa – BA, besides observation and written record of the mathematics lessons developed in the class. Difficulties were observed for the insertion of innovative methodologies, lack of training courses, support and materials available in the school unit, as well as learning difficulties due to the neglect of mathematics in the initial years. However, with investment in training and support for education professionals, it will be possible to introduce them to new teaching methods and to insert them in the classroom, with the aim of improving public education.
